# Orthobiologics in Scottsdale means blood- or marrow-based joint care nearby

*Local Blood and Marrow Joint Care — Orthobiologics Scottsdale*

> Orthobiologics Scottsdale care starts with blood or marrow; find the clinic from Old Town, north Scottsdale and 85254.

## The clinic is closer to central Scottsdale than the far north

This guide gives the clinic address and the main routes from each part of Scottsdale. QC Kinetix (Scottsdale) is at 9220 East Mountain View Road, Suite 210, in 85258. The office is east of Loop 101, so check the drive before setting your visit time.

Scottsdale stretches a long way from north to south. The trip from McCormick Ranch is much shorter than the drive from Troon North. Traffic can add time, and you may also need a ride home.

## Central Scottsdale has a shorter trip on local streets

McCormick Ranch, Gainey Ranch and Scottsdale Ranch are roughly three miles from the office. Via Linda or Mountain View Road keeps much of the trip on local streets. The drive is often eight to ten minutes, with HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center nearby on Shea Boulevard.

Old Town and the Waterfront are roughly eight miles away. Hayden Road or Scottsdale Road leads north to Shea Boulevard. Continue east past Loop 101 toward 92nd Street for a trip estimated at fifteen to eighteen minutes.

## North Scottsdale needs a longer drive south

McDowell Mountain Ranch, Grayhawk, DC Ranch and Silverleaf are roughly nine miles away. Loop 101 south to the Shea Boulevard exit takes about fourteen to sixteen minutes. Traffic changes those times, so allow enough time to arrive without rushing.

Troon North, Pinnacle Peak, Terravita and Desert Mountain are closer to seventeen miles away. The trip usually takes twenty-five to twenty-eight minutes by Pima Road or Scottsdale Road toward Loop 101. If you can’t drive after treatment, arrange help before you leave home.

## Plan the ride home and count every return trip

Ask before the visit whether you may drive yourself home. Find out how far you may walk later that day. If the clinician suggests more visits, count the travel time and arrange a ride for each one.

Much of 85254 has a Scottsdale mailing address but sits inside Phoenix city limits. Kierland and the Airpark are roughly six miles from the office. The trip takes about twelve to fourteen minutes by Scottsdale or Hayden Road to Shea, though traffic may change it.

## The Scottsdale drive depends on your starting point

Scottsdale stretches about thirty-one miles from north to south. McCormick Ranch and Gainey Ranch are about three miles from the Mountain View Road office. Troon North and Desert Mountain are closer to a seventeen-mile drive south.

Old Town is roughly eight miles away by Hayden or Scottsdale Road to Shea Boulevard. The Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt runs eleven miles through central Scottsdale. Your normal walk or golf routine may help you describe what the soreness limits.

1. Medicare's national coverage determination states that CMS covers autologous platelet-rich plasma ONLY for patients with chronic non-healing diabetic, pressure and/or venous wounds, and only inside an approved coverage-with-evidence-development clinical study. Every approved study listed under the NCD is a wound-healing study. There is no Medicare national coverage for PRP in osteoarthritis or tendinopathy, which is why these injections are billed to the patient.

A meta-analysis of 8 trials (648 patients, judged at low risk of bias overall) comparing intra-articular PRP with intra-articular corticosteroid found PRP significantly better for pain, stiffness and function at 3, 6 and 9 months (P<0.01), with the largest effects at 6 months (SMD -0.78) and 9 months (SMD -1.63). Three PRP injections a week apart outperformed a single injection over 12 months.

The only FDA-approved stem cell products in the United States are blood-forming (hematopoietic progenitor) cells derived from umbilical cord blood, approved only for disorders of blood production, and there are currently NO FDA-approved exosome products.

4. A network meta-analysis restricted to LARGE randomized trials (at least 100 patients per group; 57 RCTs, 22,795 participants, 18 intra-articular interventions) found treatment effects were consistently larger in the 35 high-risk-of-bias trials than in the 22 low/unclear-risk trials. In the main analysis excluding high-risk trials, triamcinolone had the highest probability of exceeding the minimal important difference at weeks 2 and 6; hyaluronic acid had no effect on pain (SMD -0.04, 95% CrI -0.19 to 0.11, 11 trials) but higher odds of dropouts due to adverse events (OR 2.01) and of serious adverse events (OR 1.86). The effects of 16 of the 18 interventions were smaller than the MID and most were consistent with placebo effects.
